The introduction ‘Sun Parasol’ brought a completely new collection of Mandevilla to the market. While one may think all Mandevilla are created equal, the genus includes many sub groups such as sanderi, boliviensis, and amoena. These groups are all known and used for their climbing and trailing habits. The genus of Suntory have taken the best traits of these groups and created a Mandevilla unsurpassed in beauty and habit. The first introduction is aptly named the “Original” series with Crimson being the first to hold a vivid hue never fading or bleaching with age. The Original series contains a ‘White’, ‘Pink’, and the ‘Crimson’. In addition to ‘Sun Parasols’ popularity as a flora crop, Sun Parasol is excellent for hanging baskets, patio planters, and as a bedding plant. ‘Giant’- Featuring a ‘White’, ‘Pink’ and ‘Crimson’. The Giant series is the most vigorous of the Sun Parasol varieties. They have gigantic flowers that bloom profusely late spring thru fall. 
‘Pretty’-Featuring ‘Crimson’ and ‘Pink’. Superior branching and vigorous growth distinguish the Mandevilla ‘Pretty’ series.
