    Light Conditions: Sun

Theme: We will design bed 21 using the same pattern as beds 19 and 20 because they are in close proximity to each other. The border will be ‘wedges of color’ with the flat part of the wedge at the border and the point of the wedge extending ? of the way into the bed. In this way, the border will look like pieces of a pie, but leave enough room in the center for a good size planting (at least ? of the bed). The wedges will be planted with Cora Cascade Lilac with a center planting of Starla Pentas Lavender and Starla Pentas White in a 5-% / 50% mixture.

    Cultivars:
    (1) Cora Cascade Lilac —Plant a border all the way around each bed that is half a diamond or ‘wedge-shaped’. The ‘wedges of color’ will have the flat part of the wedge at the border and the point of the wedge extending ? of the way into the bed (see drawing). In this way, the border will look like pieces of a pie, but leave at least ? of the bed in the center for the planting of the mixture of Pentas Starla Lavender and Starla White

    (2) Pentas Starla Lavender and Pentas Starla White—fill the area that is bordered by the wedges of Cora Cascade Lilac with a 50% / 50% mixture. Alternate colors with every other plant to achieve a uniform mix.

    Spacing:
    (1) Plant Cora Cascade on 10" centers.
    (2) Plant Starla Pentas on 8″ centers.
